Buying Guide – How to Choose the Best Light Up Floating LED Pool Balls

Selecting the right floating LED pool balls depends on your specific needs for brightness, durability, and control features. This guide outlines key factors to consider.

Power Source

Most floating pool lights are solar powered, meaning they charge during the day and light up at night. Ensure the solar panel is efficient and exposed to direct sunlight for optimal performance.

Choose solar models for convenience and battery free operation to save energy costs.

Waterproof Rating

Look for an IP68 waterproof rating to ensure the lights can withstand submersion and harsh weather conditions. This rating guarantees the device is fully protected against dust and prolonged water immersion.

An IP68 rating is essential for any light intended to float in pools or ponds.

Size and Visibility

Sizes range from 14 to 16 inches, with larger balls being more visible from a distance. Consider your pool size to ensure the lights are noticeable without overcrowding the space.

Larger balls create a bigger visual impact and are easier to see from the pool deck.

Color Options

Some models offer fixed colors while others cycle through multiple hues automatically. Premium models include remote controls allowing you to select specific colors or modes.

Remote control models provide the most flexibility for setting the desired mood.

Durability

Materials like vinyl or thick PVC withstand tossing better than thin plastic. Look for reinforced seams and impact resistance if kids will be playing with the lights.

Thick materials and sealed welds prevent leaks and extend the lifespan of the lights.

Additional Features

Some lights offer unique features like pattern projection or hanging loops for versatile placement. Pumps may be included to simplify inflation.

Additional features like hanging loops increase versatility for decorating different outdoor areas.

How to Use and Care for Your Light Up Floating LED Pool Balls

First, inflate the pool balls using the included pump or an air compressor. Ensure the valve is securely closed to prevent air leaks during use.

Place the lights in direct sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours to fully charge the solar panel. The lights will automatically turn on when darkness is detected.

After use, rinse the lights with fresh water to remove chlorine or salt. Store them deflated in a cool dry place to extend their lifespan.
